Eric -- thanks for the compliment; although I do wish I was able to express my thoughts in a much more concise manner :)

WAAA -- I kinda regret titling it "My life is over", although I purposefully called it that because I wanted to parody the perception that the sky was falling and the whole world was ending. But yeah, the title probably led most people to skip by it without reading it thinking it was just another emotional reaction piece, which I hope it wasn't.

BT -- I have no idea what you just said :) I can only follow what goes on on the field. Most of the economic details I have no opinion or understanding of...

...but if it isn't obvious, I'm not used to having commenters other than my brother or my friends, so I'm kinda just glad someone read it :)

I think it was game, set match NY for the economic future no matter what; Theo said himself that the Sox do not and will not have the money to put into the team that the Yankees do.

Duke, this was probably the most rational explanation of the causes of this season that I've seen yet. I'm actually a bit surprised that Theo didn't say something similar at his most recent press conference, but maybe he doesn't feel the need to justify things to the media.

Waaa stop your complaining….Yankee fans were not complaining when our team was devastated by injuries and was losing every other series…grow some balls and let your team play ball….damn I’m sick of red socks fans crying about everything….your life isn’t over your SEASON is.

But what happens in the near future when the depreciation tax benefits of buying the Sox expire and the Yanks stop paying revenue sharing due to the debt payments on their new stadium, let alone the extra revenue generated? And the Red Sox are paying $ 100 million ot remodel Fenway Park (but receiving $ 37 mm in state tax funds)?

Gam, set , match - NY for the foreseeable economic future?
