So yeah, I promised to start writing in this again, and yeah, I lied. Well, I actually did type a long Celtics review and preview, but I wasn’t able to get a consistent internets connection with my lerpterp in my brother’s apartment, so it kinda sat around. And now that the draft’s over, the whole article’s outdated.
Howeva, there is something very pressing… something that will destroy this blog as we once knew it once and for all!
You see, Sergei Samsonov was my favorite hockey player. Even when the Bruins traded him, I liked him. I liked him so much, I made my username across the internets in his name, even though I spelled it wrong.
But now I hate him.
Even if it was his probably his agent, and even though I shouldn’t care about it this much, he’s dead to me. He signed with the Canadiens. Now, I hate the Yankees, but I hate the Canadiens more. The Yankees got their 26 world titles through spending money and picking the right guys to spend money on. The Habs won their 24 by convincing the league to let them have the right of first refusal on any and every Canadian-born player. Which is the equivalent of telling the Yankees they can sign any rookie American player before entering the draft.
Also, they spent a long time kicking the shit out of the Bruins.
Anyway, I’m disowning the Samsanov316 name. It might exist as an account name in certain forums, but my handle will change to Duke Davis.
Duke Davis, as you know, is the owner of the Bad Street Brawlers, a former punk rocker, and the world’s coolest martial arts vigilante. It’s also going to be my “stage” name. Even though I can never finish anything I start, and the chances of me reaching any internet fame are slim, none and negative, I’m taking the route of Randy Baer, Michael Coulthard, Terry Bollea, Michael Hickenbottom, Sean Reilly and Sam Clemens.
So, this site will go the way of ScoopThis and the LoudHouse. It’ll be a placeholder for a new site. What’s the URL? Not sure yet. Might give blogspot a little test run. Might even just make my own in Adobers. Check back soon.
And by soon, I probably mean about 4 months.
